🐘 Evernote’s New Buyers
TLDR: Evernote has commenced a buyout deal with Bending Spoons set to close fully in 2023 which sees the Italian-based app maker buy Evernote.
Who are Bending Spoons?
They create AI-focused applications like Splice and Remini — both AI focused image/video creating tools.
They essentially specialise in quality app development with AI as their specialism - with a well-known track-record in securing 500M+ downloads on application downloads.
What does this mean?
Evernote have made mention things will continue in development.
They are currently working on the ability to collaborate on a note in a multi-player like way, much like Google Docs.
Also - they have focus on building out their Office Calendar integrations to help Microsoft customers.
🧠 Notion’s New GTP-3 AI & First Look
Notion have been building an AI assistant that lives within Notion’s pages.
You can now use it to create text, generate ideas, summarise, translate & much more — we passed over to the brilliant Alex Sherwood of aNotioneer to explore some of the ways he uses it daily in Notion.
Notion AI is currently alpha and operates as at an early waitlist.
🔴 Mem’s New Series A & AI Function
Disclosure: Keep Productive is an investor of Mem Labs Inc.
You can read in full about how this affects our reviews and coverage.
So Mem has announced a Series A funding in collaboration with OpenAI and including a new Smart Write and Smart Edit function in their AI.
This works much like Notion’s AI in allowing you to write and modify text within notes, but we’re yet to explore how this connects to notes in differentiation from Notion.
✏️ LEX Writer
LEX is another writing application developed by Every and offers similar AI experiences that Notion and Mem now have inside of their application.
If you’re a writer, this could be an interesting option - however, early days.
